Visalus-Getting a Balanced View of the Company

Visalus is a MLM (multi-level marketing) company that has its headquarters in Los Angeles, California that markets weight and nutritional products as well as energy drinks to the US and Canada. Among their most popular products is the Vi Shake that claims to be a total nutrition system that replaces one or two meals a day.

The company was incorporated in March 199. It's founders Nick Sarnicola and Blake Mallen decided to start promoting VIsalus in Northern California after a failed business venture with another multi-level company. After being taken over by Blyth, Inc, the company nearly went down if it weren't for Ryan Blair's $1M investment in the company that resulted in a turnaround of $34M in 2010. Ryan is the current CEO of the company that was named the 6th in supplement sales among U.S companies in 2011.

How it works
The whole process starts with having a goal in mind. This can be losing a specific amount of weight, increasing your stamina, endurance, keeping energized and the like. Once you have that goal, you can enter what they call the 90 day Body by Vi challenge that starts out by selecting the right challenge kit for you. They have the following options available:

• Balance kit- gives good nutritional balance and costs $49
• Shape Kit- shapes your body for $99
• Core Kit-includes anti aging and energy formula for $199
• Transformation Kit- a 30 day supply of everything needed to transform your body for $249
• Fit Kit-ideal for athletes at$323

Once one completes the 90 day challange which allegedly will produce results, you can become a promoter and endorse the product to friends. Visalus has a program in which if you recommend the product to 3 people, you get the next month free.

To get started as a basic distributer, a fee of $49 is required, the Executive success system for $499 or package at $999. A review mentions three ways to generate income namely up front income, advancement bonuses and residual income.

Despite the fact that many success stories can be found in the internet, some sceptics call these claims anecdotal evidence without any scientific basis provided to prove the claims as factual. Still, most users claim to be able to have lost great amounts of weight by following the plan while others are left disappointed claiming that there is nothing special about Visalus.
